1961WinterPresent throughout January at Encampment Forest, Lake County, seen by Myrtle Penner, and at Hibbing, St. Louis County, seen by Harriet Micensky. Red-breasted Nutcatch: A. C. Rosenwinkel saw one at Lake Vadnais, Ramsey County on January 27. Myrtle Penner reports them present all December and January at Encampment Forest. Robin: Jan Green received scattered re· ports in the Duluth area from December 12 thru 31.
1962FallAug. 14, Hibbing, St. Louis County, Harriet Micensky; Sept. 25 and 30, Hibbing, Harriet Micensky; Nov. 1, Hibbing. Forest Strnad; numerous reports during all seasons of the year indicate that Mrs. Micensky has a "monopoly" on these brown-capped little fellows.

Thfted Titmouse Despite recent series of mild winters, this species has never recovered its former range of the 1940-1975 period. Reported only from two areas in Houston (Winnebago Township EMF and Root RiverTrai1 AP) and three areas in Olmsted.

In contrast to Fall 1986, when a major movement of this species along the North Shore of Lake Superior correlated with an irruption of Gray Jays (KRE), there was no evidence of increased numbers of Boreal Chickadees along the North Shore in Fall 2006.
